Early in the 1870's it was decided to remodel the plain and austere building.  In 1874 the renovation was complete at a cost of $4500.00.  The pews were turned about, the cnancel was moved to the west end of the building, a small kitchen was added, and a steeple was constructed containing a bell.  The bell was cast by Vanduzen and Tift, located in Cincinnati Ohio during the year of 1866.

In 1973 the interior of the sanctuary was once again remodeled with new carpet, new cushioned pews and fresh pain.  The pulpit was moved for the third time to be placed in a more central location, with the incorporation of the north room as an integral part of the sanctuary.  New brass chandeliers and electronic chimes by the Virden Bell Company of Cincinnatie, Ohio were installed.  The beautiful chimes rang out over the entire village for 25 years, much to the enjoyment of the residents.

In 1998, the earlier carillon became unserviceable, and was replaced by a modern bell system from Chime Master Systems, of Lancaster, Ohio.
